Hi-Fi Prototype

Due December 2, 2009

Our process for developing the hi-fidelity prototype started with a series of user tests performed with our lo-fidelity prototype. Using Axure prototyping software, we were able to take our hand drawn sketches of the interface and make a web-based, fully functional representation of our Android application. Each test asked the user to perform a series of tasks such as building a custom workout or finding a specific exercise. We asked them to voice their opinions, problems, and expectations for each screen that they encountered.

We facilitated 2 interview sessions, interviewing a total of 5 users who have experience working out at the gym, presenting them with our lo-fi prototype.

After each user interview we held interpretation sessions to discuss breakdowns in user expectations, the organization of elements, labeling, and potential design recommendations that were either implicitly or explicitly revealed during the interview.

Using the findings from these tests, we began development of the hi-fidelity prototype which we have built using the Android SDK.

Challenges Using the Android SDK

  • Lack of documentation
  • Intermittent bugs
  • Novel mobile architecture
